Tampa, FL - Some ideas can be realized overnight. The good ones, though, take a little longer.

And today, after about 12 years, Mission Focus, the organization founded to come along side the National YMCA, is really online at www.mymissionfocus.org.

It was born of a vision to bring Christian resources to every YMCA staffer, to encourage and equip them with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that they would be blessed to be a blessing to others.

It’s a simple vision and it’s taking shape right now in the complexity of the Internet.

“We are really glad you can check us out,” exclaims Executive Director Jay Lippy, as his welcome video streams from the home page.

Behind that page, and many months ago, Lippy was spearheading the development of the site with only a couple of mandates, 1) it had to deliver content, 2) it had to be accessible to the staffers and the contributors, and 3) It had to be searchable.

With Tampa-based, strategic marketing partner, CERICDigital (www.cericdigital.com), Lippy opted to roll out a database-driven site built on a blogger engine, a MySql engine. And if that’s all foreign to you. That’s O.K. It was foreign to him too at first. But the site accomplished his every goal and quickly, and under budget.

Some highlights include Lippy’s Mission Moment, a Monday morning e-mail blast encouragement which will be archived in the Resource Center along with other go-to deliverables like the Devotionals and the Wellness Center.

Look for the Archives, the Internationals, the Chaplains pages, a CEO Purpose column, Podcasting and more. The Mission Focus team is excited to be here and looking forward to hearing your stories of the “C” showing huge in the YM”C”A.

“We are just getting started,” Lippy said.

May I add an Amen to that Brother.
