An Esther Moment

An Esther Moment

The Bible is filled with unlikely heroes. God loves to use the simple, common person to accomplish his plans. One such hero was Esther. A young woman living in captivity in Persia, she suddenly found herself tapped as King Xerxes’ new queen. Soon after, a sinister plot was hatched to kill all of the Jews in the Persian Kingdom. Her uncle Mordecai convinced Esther to put her own personal safety at great peril and to ask Xerxes for help. The line that sealed the deal? And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”  Esther 4:13

It’s possible that each of us might someday face an Esther moment. We may have been placed by God in a particular job, in a particular city, at a particular point in time to use the very gifts that He has given us. The difficulty that we find in front of us could be there because we are the one person who can handle it with grace and integrity and in a way that can bring glory to God.

Look for your Esther moment. See challenges for what they are…opportunities to put your God given talents into action. Pray that someone will be your Mordecai and give you the confidence and reassurance to do the right thing… even at a personal risk!
