My name ist Joachim Schmutz and I am the Executive Director of the Munich YMCA, Germany. I have worked for the YMCA the last 17 years, mainly in Youth Work, Evangelism, Volunteer development and Mentoring.
From 1999 to 2003 I served as a Fraternal Secretary in the YMCA Perú. Since then I am actively involved in the international YMCA work.
Together with the CEOs of the YMCA Perú and Chile we initiated the “Mission Network of YMCAs in Latin America” where I am involved in planning and executing annual Mission Conferences in Latin America.
Since 2004 I accepted an Executive Position within the Munich YMCA. Apart from that, I am on the Executive Committee of the “YMCA World Urban Network” which unites more than 120 local City YMCAs around the world.
I am married and we have 2 wonderful children, ages 9 and 8.
